Early Life and Education
George Opare-Addo, popularly known as “Pablo,” was born on March 15, 1981, in Nima, Greater Accra Region. His journey from student activism to national leadership reflects his lifelong commitment to youth empowerment and social justice.

He attended Achimota Primary School and later Adisadel College in Cape Coast. He proceeded to the University of Ghana, Legon, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Psychology. He further obtained a Master’s degree in Governance and Leadership and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). In 2019, he was called to the Ghana Bar after completing his legal education at the Ghana School of Law.

Political and Professional Career
At just 27, George Opare-Addo was appointed Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Akuapem North Municipal Assembly during the Mills-Mahama administration — making him one of Ghana’s youngest MCEs. He served from 2009 to 2017, where he championed youth development, education, and local governance reforms.

He contested as the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Okere Constituency in both the 2008 and 2012 elections, demonstrating deep grassroots commitment even in challenging political territories.

In 2018, he was elected National Youth Organizer of the NDC, and later re-elected in 2022. His leadership revitalized the NDC Youth Wing, positioning it as a vibrant engine for mobilization, advocacy, and political education.

In January 2025, President John Dramani Mahama appointed him as Minister for Youth Development & Empowerment, a newly created ministry aimed at transforming youth employment, innovation, and participation in national governance.
