Early Life and Education
Sammy Adu Gyamfi was born on March 28, 1989, in Wamfie, Bono Region, Ghana. A brilliant communicator and lawyer, he has risen to become one of the most influential young political figures in Ghana’s Fourth Republic.
He attended St. James Seminary Senior High School, where his passion for leadership and debate began to emerge. He later gained admission to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), earning a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a degree in Environmental Science. He proceeded to the Ghana School of Law, where he was called to the Ghana Bar in October 2018.
Professional and Political Career
Sammy Gyamfi’s political journey began during his university years, where he served as President of the KNUST branch of the NDC’s Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN). His leadership, eloquence, and organizational skills positioned him as one of the most trusted communicators within the party.
In 2018, he contested and won the position of National Communications Officer of the NDC, defeating his opponent, Fred Agbenyo, by a landslide. He was re-elected in 2022, solidifying his reputation as a strategic and influential voice in Ghanaian politics.
In January 2025, under President John Dramani Mahama’s new administration, Gyamfi was appointed Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC) and tasked with operationalizing the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) — a crucial step in reforming the country’s gold management system.
He is also a partner at Ayine & Partners, a reputable Ghanaian law firm where he practices civil and criminal law.
